Battle of Medellin

March 29, 1809
Spanish General Guesta moved with the Army of Estremadura to crush Marshal Victor's French force near Medellin. Victor took up a defensive position and waited for the Spanish attack to come. After the initial Spanish attack, a French cavalry charge broke the Spanish line and turned the battle into a rout.
