Battle of Montmirail

February 11, 1814
After winning at Champaubert , Napoleon turned his forces to destroy Russian General Sacken's corps. Napoleon's soldiers moved through Montmirail and took up positions to await the reinforcements of Marshal Mortier. Meanwhile General Sacken launched an attack on Montmirail but was repulsed, and when Mortier's forces arrived the French attacked and defeated Sacken while holding off a Prussian corps commanded by General Yorck.
